Petzl, one the the foremost brand names in climbing equipment, will be returning to the Smuggs Ice Bash again this year. Last year their rep, Matt McCormick, provided harnesses, ice tools and helmets to demo. We are looking forward to being able to demo some of their high quality ice climbing equipment again this year.
You don’t have to be taking part in one of the weekend clinics to demo gear. If you’ve always wanted to try Nomics, or Ergo’s, stop by the table Saturday and Sunday and check in with Matt. Get there early though, Petzl tools are highly sought after. Thinking about a new harness, stop by and demo the Sama, Selena or Adjama. Comfortable, supportive, light and quality made of course!
Make sure you purchase a raffle ticket for Saturday Night, Petzl always provides great prizes for the evening raffle.
Thanks Petzl!
Speaking of Matt McCormick, he will again be setting the Men’s and Women’s dry-tool competition routes for Friday nights kickoff party and indoor mixed climbing competition. He is one the East’s strongest Ice and Mixed climbers and has several first ascents and incredibly hard repeats around the East and across the globe. Come watch the East’s only Indoor Dry-tool comp at Petra Cliffs on Friday night. We’ll get the festivities started around 6pm.
Here’s Matt on one of Vermont’s hardest mixed lines; Alien Nation, M10 at Snake Mountain.
