It’s that time of year again where we are in crazy-mode. Both in anticipation for the approaching Winter and for all the logistics surrounding Vermont’s best kept secret, The Smuggs Ice Bash! Shhh!! Wait, actually… bring all your friends!!
If you’ve taken a look at the website in the past couple of days we have been working on updating many of the logistics surrounding the festival including (but not limited too) the Guest Guides, Sponsosrs, Climbing Clinics and World Class Guest Presenters! While we can’t have all the logistics sorted out all at once, we hope to have much of it solidified in the coming week. One big change is the festival location for Saturday and Sunday. We’ve got all new digs and we are stoked! The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch is a recently built wedding/events barn right on Rte. 108 ready to welcome all outdoor adventurers’. This is only a 10 minute drive from the gate that closes Rte. 108 on the Jeffersonville side of Smugglers Notch. Make sure you also plan to attend the kick-off party and ONLY Dry-tool comp on the East Coast at Petra Cliffs Climbing Center in Burlington Friday night! We’ll get things going by 6pm. It’s always a crazy time. Astonishing feats of strength by male and female competitors, a food truck, beverages by some of Vermont’s finest breweries, a massive raffle, live DJ and public demo’s! Check out a video of the party from a couple years ago!
We hope to bring you the best Ice Climbing Festival on the East Coast (we’ll tackle North America next year!) and we hope you join us this year for a weekend bashing ice, celebrating and partying Northern-Vermont style, whatever that is…!
Make sure you check back often and keep up to date with all the happening on our Facebook and Instagram pages!
If you’ve looked through the site and clicked on some of the clinics you may have noticed that Clinic Registration has BEGUN! We should note that as we hear back from potential guest guides, we may add a few additional advanced skills clinics throughout the weekend.
