IFMGA Guest Guide Mark Puleio
The Smuggs Ice Bash is elated to welcome back our local neighbor and IFMGA Mountain Guide Mark Puleio to the list of guides this year. Mark lives a short distance from Smugglers Notch (most of the year) as has called Northern Vermont his home for some time. Being an IFMGA Guide is no small feat. It takes years and years of dedication and lots of hard work and is often compared to a doctorate level degree for Mountain Guides. You can find out more about this certification process here: AMGA and IFMGA
Mark has an in-depth knowledge of the area and has made guiding his career for the past 2 decades both here in Vermont, throughout the Northeast and Internationally in Europe and Peru to name a few places. A climber equally at home on a pair of ski’s, Mark has an infectious smile and an energetic attitude with a keen sense for understanding one’s goals and making sure they are met. A day with Mark is a day easily well spent.
Make sure you get a chance to take advantage of Mark’s vast knowledge and experience by registering for one of his clinics during this years Smuggs Ice Bash. Saturday’s Alpine Climbing Clinic with Mark is already full but Sunday’s Climb a Classic still has 2 spaces remaining.
